Words: 1359 sort of…ish. I had a very rough day with a migraine and being at work, so I was too tired to focus on much. So I spent half an hour transferring edits I made on my print copy of “Adventures in Pithea” to the computer, where it has to be for the TCSTB to work on it. And I’m counting it.

Daily Challenge Check-in: January 27, 2015
Words: 1155 revising “Adventures in Pithea” with two of my sisters over Skype. Also known as the twenty-fifth meeting of the Tri-County Sisterhood of the Traveling Book. We got through almost 4 full pages of double-spaced text, which was amazing. We were actually able to leave whole paragraphs of text alone without arguing over every sentence.

Words: 788 revising “Adventures in Pithea.” A lot of rewriting again, as opposed to editing what is already there. Many parts of the execution of the Plan didn’t really make sense. Even in the way that the Plan had to be altered on the fly, when forced to think through the parts the reader doesn’t see, but put everyone in place for when the reader does see them, I realized things were kind of messy. So I’m trying to clean them up without making everything too convoluted.

Words: 810 writing. Nothing story relating, just some free-writing. I had kind of a down day today, so I found it therapeutic to just write in a notebook some of what’s been on my mind lately. I listened to the newest album from for KING & COUNTRY while doing so, and it is wonderful. This kind of writing is not something I do often, but it was kind of nice. And it counts for the challenge.

Words: 1036 revising “Adventures in Pithea.” Missy is less accepting of Naolin’s assertion that technology exists out in the world. She’s unwilling to just agree that people are breaking the worldwide tech ban, when it is so highly illegal.
I didn’t do any work over the weekend, because I was gone pretty much all day both days. I took stuff with me to do, but didn’t ever have a chance. Still, at least it was just a weekend, and I made myself sit down to it again today.

Words: 995 written. Nothing story-related, just some dream journaling. There was a lot to write about this time. More than ever so far. It took me half the day to get it all down, because I had to take care of other things, like getting lunch for my 4-year-old. Fortunately, I’d had some pretty vivid dreams that stuck with me long enough to get most of it down. Unfortunately, I had a headache most of the day, so I decided to not push myself to get any revising work in.

An absolutely amazing geek band from Toronto announced today that they were breaking up. It’s been a sad day. Debs and Errol brought a lot to the geek music scene with their enthusiasm and their fun, catchy songs. Though they are parting ways, their music lives on (plus almost 4 years of daily webcomics). Check them out!
Words: 844 revising “Adventures in Pithea.” I’m pretty sure I solved the problem I mentioned yesterday. The smart guy of the group will be able to figure out how to use the technology, but because he gets enough information from the bad guy and from research left behind by the dead scientists in the hidden facility they’re in. Most of today’s ground covered was incorporating that in all of the areas that referenced this situation.
